Are You Starting a Business?
- Measure Your Risk Honestly
- Confidence is Key
- Show Your Strengths and Skills
Many of my clients become great friends through the nature of the work. Creativity tends to bring out the core in all people. Occasionally, by request, I choose to work with people who are already lifelong friends.
It’s considered a risk by old school terms but I think it can be a great advantage when handled properly. It allows you to have that extra level of intuition in reading the needs and wants behind the ideas.
Pros & Cons
This project came to me through a life long friend, Sacha. She’s one of my soul sisters. She and her husband Jamie required a logo to open a new clinic in their remote Canadian town, Cumberland. As we began to develop the design we ran into a naming issue due to discovering a pre-existing company offering a similar service also using Cumberland in their name. Despite this significant issue we were able to make required decisions quickly and move ahead.
Conclusion
Perseverance was eventually chosen due to the nature of the work, it relates perfectly to overcoming injury. The combined skills held by both Sacha and Jamie give their clients the best opportunity for optimum health. They opted to personalise their identity by representing their love of the outdoors and their beautiful Canadian surroundings. I’m excited to see the growth of their business and feel really privileged to be involved from the start from all these miles away.
Taking the Risk
I revel in helping people break away from constraints that hold them to less enriching careers. It is especially beautiful to watch people you care about truly aim for their heart’s desire pursuing business on their own terms. Sacha and Jamie have such a brilliant future ahead, the considered risk they have taken to open this clinic now will have a long rewarding path.
The key to success in any business is the commitment to persevere and focus your vision positively. There will be hurdles, there always is. Be ready, leave fear far behind. Be willing, be open, and keep going.
